It can also provide a means of escape or recreation, allowing individuals to temporarily suspend their mundane realities and connect with others through shared experiences. The word entertainment is derived from the Latin term intertenere, from the prefix inter- (“inside”) and the suffix tenere (“to hold”). Its meaning has changed through time.
